CONTRACT RENEWAL CLAUSES

Any clause which provides for automatic renewal of a written contract entered into after January 1st must appear in a clear and conspicuous manner otherwise the clause will not be enforceable. Federal, state and local governments are exempt from this Illinois law. (PA 91-0674)

NEW ILLINOIS REAL ESTATE TRANSFER DECLARATION FORM

Illinois has completely revised its transfer declaration form for real estate property transfers which occur on or after January 1st. The form requires additional information from both the seller and the buyer about the transaction. Criminal penalties are imposed for providing false or misleading information.

ADDITIONAL PENALTIES FOR NON-PAYMENT OF SUPPORT

Yet another Illinois law has been passed which imposes criminal penalties and provides for the revocation or suspension of one's driver's license and professional license for failure to pay child support or maintenance. (PA 91-613) (See Auctioneer Licensing)

AUCTIONEER LICENSING

Illinois auctioneers must now pass a written examination under a new licensing program. (225 ILCS 407) The law also provides that an auctioneer's license can be terminated 30 days after notification of failure to pay taxes, child support or student loans.
